WellFest Adelaide is a 3-day festival that celebrates wellbeing in the city through a range of carefully curated events and experiences associated with fitness, nutrition, self-care, sleep, mindfulness and connection.
Adelaide’s CBD and north transforms into a thriving wellness hub with local operators showcasing an enticing array of wellness-oriented experiences designed to revive, destress and restore.
What does the term wellbeing mean?
The terms 'wellbeing' and 'wellness' are closely connected. Wellness is how you feel today; the state of your mental and physical self at the present time. Wellbeing is your future; a more long-term outlook on the quality of life, and the opportunities to expand on your present wellness.
Wellbeing is generally addressed through six dimensions (view here); better nutrition, sleep, self-care, connection and mindfulness are now considered as important as better physical health and fitness for our overall wellbeing.
Adelaide. Australia’s wellbeing capital
Wellbeing is inherent in so many of Adelaide’s features. We’re one of the few cities surrounded by park lands; this green belt forms the ‘lungs of the city’ and a place where Adelaideans walk their dogs, play sport and cycle to and from home, and the location for many of our world-class events and festivals.
The unrushed city
Despite the frenzy of activity, Adelaide is still an unrushed city where good food and friends go hand in hand. It’s an incredible place to live, work, study, visit and play.
In this sense, WellFest Adelaide is a perfect fit for the city. WellFest Adelaide is a celebration of all the things that make Adelaide so special.
In 2021 we created WellFest Adelaide – a festival that celebrates wellness and wellbeing through a variety of initiatives, activations and experiences. WellFest Adelaide will lead the way in Australia and become synonymous with innovation in this space. It will become another jewel in the crown of South Australia’s world-class suite of festivals, and a global destination in wellness tourism.
Who is behind WellFest Adelaide?
WellFest Adelaide is an Adelaide Economic Development Agency initiative, supported by the City of Adelaide.
Working closely with businesses, industry groups, state government agencies and other relevant organisations, AEDA delivers a range of programs designed to stimulate the city’s economic growth with a focus on business growth, investment attraction, growing the visitor economy, residential growth, marketing the city as a whole and promoting Rundle Mall as Adelaide’s premier shopping destination.
